CARPET = Community for Academic Reviewing, Publishing and Editorial Technology

CARPET is an information platform for tools and services for electronic publishing. CARPET establishes a center of competence for the information of potential users and for the communication between users and developers as well as among developers.  The main parts of the platform are the catalog for technical e-publishing solutions, a collaboration board, a knowledge base and a news-service:

The CARPET Catalogue provides detailed information about e-publishing software and services.

The CARPET Forum increases the collaboration of developers and allows the contact between provider and user.

The CARPET Knowledge Base is base for the collective documentation of essential knowledge information about e-publishing  technologies as well as for guidelines of specific software solutions. 

The CARPET News-Service informs about recent technical developments and provides the possibility to present announcements and articles to the community.

The aims of the project are the avoidance of duplicate developments and the improvement of the sustainability of existing projects. During the currently running second project stage the usability of the platform will be technically improved and a sustained concept for the continuity of the project results will be developed. CARPET is a cooperation between the Humboldt University zu Berlin, the Göttingen State and University Library and the Max Planck Digital Library, supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
