Public computer- and network-workstations (öCNAPs) are set up in many areas in service institutions, to provide modern networked work possibilities, provide local information as well as make information services on the internet available. Recently a particular relevance is the connection facility for own mobile laptops, that should connect either to LAN or WLAN of the organisation. The highly alternating user ship of these öCNAPs respectively the changing equipment contains risks - particularly with regard to IT-security. On the one hand the öCNAPs have to be protected, what also means the hardware; on the other hand the brought external devices offer a potential security risk. The workgroup’s goal is to gather recommendations for the setup and support of öCNAPs. Concerning user administration and account allocation the workgroup aspires a close cooperation with the ZKI-working team directory services.
