DINI has the agenda, "die wissenschaftlichen Informationen optimal öffentlich zugänglich [zu] machen" (§2 der DINI-Satzung). Because in a knowledge-society creativity and innovation in science, economy and culture will be developed best, if it is possible to freely access knowledge and information. For this reason DINI has plead since its formation for access possibilities to information for everbody, at any time, at any place and on fair conditions. This obtains mainly scientific information. Mainly the DINI workgroup "Copyright" pleads for preserving basic rights of free access to information particularly for education and science at the amendment of the "copyright for the information society".
