The workgroup "Elektronisches Publizieren" supports the electronic publishing at German universities by the development of recommendations for document- and publication services and through the organization of training courses, meetings and discussions on the topic. Since 2003 the workgroup EPUB assigns a certificate for documents- and publication services in a standardized process. That isto support universities, colleges and research facilities to implement a minimum standard for building up an institutional repository. In addition to the certificate advice and support for operators of document- and publication services who develop qualified services is provided. DINI supports the use, distribution and design of OAI-compatible services in Germany with the execution of information days and user-workshops. Furthermore this DINI workgroupassists in the information exchange with the international OAI community and the development of OAI-based services. DINI supports the constitution of a national network of certified Open Access repositories as a component of a European research infrastructure, that will be implemented within the scope of the EU-project DRIVER. Besides the mentioned key aspects DINI also engages for implementation of the intentions of the Open Access movement. In this case DINI cooperates with the information platform “open-access.net”. Other aspects of the work of the group are the alternative and additional approaches for impact-measurement scientific publications based on utilisation data. Here there exists a close exchange with the LIBER Access Division and the Research Library of the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
